We’ve finalized the design of our logo! The goal was something that both my wife and I liked, and that represented the true nature of our product and our hearts. While this whole venture started rather inadvertently, the fact is that I like building things with wood. Initially, my goal was to build two vanities for our bathroom remodels (yes… two; significant but slow leak in the common wall destroying the structure over time). However, as things progressed, I realized that I had fun building things in a way that I’d never experienced growing up.
As time, tool acquisitions, and project costs increased it was apparent that I’d need to make money after the remodels were completed to justify buying thousands of dollars in tools. That wouldn’t be a problem, I’d already created a few plant shelves for my wife and had planned on building more to sell. Initially, I was going to focus on specialized shelves with LED’s built-in for plant growth and propagation. However, now that I have more tools and experience, I plan on focusing on custom handmade furnishings.
There are a few more tasks that I have to complete before fully launching; planking a large oak tree, finishing craft projects for Christmas, re-plumbing the kitchen and utility room, and a few others. However, I’ve found that keeping one toe in the woodworking projects helps keep me sane. Or, at least as sane as someone who’s absolutely crazy like myself can be.
